I think MMA might be my new favorite thing to watch. It’s so damned unpredictable. Take this past Saturday’s “The Ultimate Fighter” finale, for example. Two of the four matches that were originally planned to be televised ended in strange ways, the first involving Gray Maynard knocking himself unconscious on a vicious slam, and the second involving Manny Gamburyan blowing out his own shoulder trying to take down Nate Diaz. Of the two, Maynard’s “Spinebuster” on Rob Emerson was undoubtedly the more fun to watch.

It’s also worth noting that BJ Penn put an absolutely VILE choke on Jens Pulver, scissoring Pulver’s left arm against his own body, leaving him only his right arm to fight back with. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it was my favorite free UFC event, not counting the pre-packaged knockout shows.
That said, I’m REALLY looking forward to the next pay-per-view on July 7. That card is just ridiculous.
